OK here goes. A little background. I have 15 years experience as a Mita technician. I have recently come across a Mita 1856 that is reducing the image on 100%. Paper running 11 x 8 1/2 ,lead to trail edge is consistent. Top to bottom is reduced by about 3/4 of an inch or so. Does NOT affect focus, text comes out fine???
Run the paper 8 1/2 x 11, the reduction is on the side, again not lead to trail?!?
I have never seen this. If it was a lens problem, I would have out of focus issues.Paper feed/paper path there would be a blurr on the image. The weird thing is that it is NOT on the lead/trail edge.
No noise or any other problems.
Really sporatic, not always there???
Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
PS. maybe time to get those wonderful salesmen in there and sell them something new. ;)

it has to be the lense unit or unit that controls it ,the scan speed you know would only move image top to bottom so check that section. i remember the 2254 machine had a loose allen nut/gear that would loosen up and cause this type of thing ,cant rmember if this machine has this style... pl

i would change the blank lamp assy. and double check the connections at plug. the blank lamp, of course, being the led assy. on drum unit. or change whole drum unit assy. making sure you use different blank lamp. if this doesn't do the trick, then i would check scanner drive pcb which controls blank lamps. next would be main bd. uuugh! good luck!
