I had a call for this machine saying out of toner when the toner has been replaced. I ran a U132 to force the toner. It ran a few copies and the add toner light came back. I cannot hear any broken gears.

How many images/months on the developer?

You may want to check the main board i had one doing that and the mian pcbwas the problem

check toner hopper & see if its not binding, also check if its sending waste to the sump. Try running U135 and listen if the toner motor is running.
Most likely scenario is the developer has depeleted below the toner sensor range, and needs to be replaced. This will happen if the customer has been running high contrast and runs out of toner and still runs copies. Check to see if the out of toner simulation has beed changed to let it run even w/o toner. Last resort, change the toner sensor if all else does not fix this problem. Hope you have a service manual for this machine, you will definitely need it to find out all the codes and various adjustments.

thanks guys, but the problem turned out to be that the customer bought the wrong toner. They put KM instead of CS toner in the machine. I would have never figures this out if I did'nt look at the toner feed pegs on the toner. The KM is square and the CS is triangular. They used to get their toner from us, but they thought by purchasing it from the internet, they would save money. Turned out that it cost them more !!!!
