View Full Version : KM-3035 W/FAX J
JUST INSTALLED A SCAN/PRINT U AND FAX J SYSTEM ON A 3035. THE FAX J DOES NOT WORK. CHECKED ALL CONECTIONS TWICE AND THEY LOOK OK. MACHINE RECOGNIZES THE FAX INSTALLED BUT I TRY TO SEND SOMETHING OUT AND THE OTHER SIDE IS BUSY. I TRIED CALLING INTO THE 3035 AND IT KEEPS RINGING. ANY IDEAS GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS T
I'm not too proud to admit that, while in a hurry, I had similar problems. Turns out I had the line going into the wrong jack on the board. :blush:
Start with the basics.
RSM GOOD POINT BUT I DOUBLE CHECKED MY CONNECTION AND ALSO CHECKED THE RIBBON CABLE FROM AND TO THE FAX PCB. DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS YET.

You may just have a bad board out of the box. Had one do that to me a while back. Try installing just the fax board on another machine (if posible) to test and see if it works.

Check to make sure all of your machine firmware is current. I have not had that particular issue but I have had some weird problems that was firmware related. If the machine, print, scan and fax firmware aren't current that can cause some problems. Hope that helps
Have you tried plugging in an inexpensive phone and dialing both in and out to make sure the phone lines are configured properly?
Is this an office phone sys where everything (phone, fax and voicemail) is routed through a computer?

Was the fax pwb initialized with the 1087 60* code after install? Had one that fooled me by not doing this. If the ribbon cable is upside down (easy to do), the machine does really goofy stuff.
