Anyone else work on these machines? if so, what are the most common problems that arise? i.e.copy process, image control, feed systems, hardware,etc..

Hi, the Cougar Series isnt so bad:

The paperfeed rollers(incl. pickup and sep.) have to be replaced ofter (about 60-80K if you want the machine running full speed), wich is very easy.
Only use original Drums! Katun Drums only last for about 100K, Sharp Drums 160K.

And there are some Problems when the machine gets older:

The supplyroller in the Tonerbox gets worn off and causes F1-xx when refilling toner. because a great amount of toner falls directly from the Tonerbox into the developer.

The Copier likes killing clutches, wich isnt so funny have a look at both gear units and clutches if the machine jams. Change cluches and everything will run very fine.

I like the cougar series, im serviceing about 30 machines (ar286 - 507), and never had defektive boards.
