Fiery PI-5500 on Minolta DI-450

Help—Help.
Situation: Updating a Fiery controller with new system software, then the power supply disappears while the controller is reading the software.
Result: Now I can’t communicate with the controller at all.

Does anyone have a solution ??

With kindly regards
Torben

Do you mean the power supply of the fiery failed? Or do you mean the the power supply of the PC that you were down loading system software failed - possible the battery ran out on a lap top?

No, no

I got switched off the power to the PI-5500 from the wall by an accident, half ways while the PI-5500 where reading the system software and now I can’t get the connection between the laptop and the PI-5500. The PI-5500 will not do the command “Flushing parallel port”, so I can get the PI-5500 to read the Boot-file.

Kindly regards

As per the Pi5500 install guide below, does the fiery logo appear? Is it possible that you are not quick enough to press the up button or answer "yes"?

Power on the Pi5500; when the Fiery logo appears on the Pi5500 Control Panel, press the
up button on the front of the Pi5500.
6. At the Parallel Boot screen on the Pi5500, select Yes. NOTE:
If you do not select Yes quickly enough at the Parallel Boot screen, recycle power
and try again.
7. When the message “Send download” appears, press the enter key on the PC.
Wait while the Pi5500 Control Panel displays status messages indicating that the Pi5500
is downloading the file and booting. Do not press any keys during this time.
8. At the Choose Function screen, select Installation. A message appears informing you
that the parallel port is flushing; wait for that process to complete.
