Anyone know how to upgrade the 7020 to scan enabled? I was told we could just install a laptop HDD, but I don't have instructions.

Thanks

Okay, it requires a PCMCIA HDD. Will any PCMCIA HDD work? Kingston has some cheap ones.

Thanks

Hello? Anyone, where does the HDD physically install to? Must we format it first?

Thanks

Okay i have the SM for the IP-423. It shows where the HDD goes, but a standard laptop HDD does not fit. Is it a special type of HDD? Must it be PCMCIA?

Thanks

Im not quite sure but I think I have turned on my PM ?
I have only just discovered this site so Im not sure I am on the ball with navigating.

sorry if I appear vague but I only spend short spells on these sites as I get too busy to play with them too much.

good luck

For the best results you have to buy a Compact Flash memory card (20-30 USD)and a PCMCIA adpter (10-15 USD) instead of a HDD. I have an unlucky experience with 8 PCMCIA HDD installed; all had been broken in 2-3 month usage.

Good luck.

Okay. I installed a 40gb PCMCIA HDD, no good. So I guess I will try the compact flash deal.

Any other Gurus with thoughts on this?

Thanks

Kelly
