IP address of what machine? What Operating System ... Windows? And what is it connected to?

It depends on where you get your IP address in the first place. If it's via a DHCP server, it could be as easy as rebooting ... but it might be quite a bit more complicated. We need more information.

You should not change your IP address unless you have been given specific instructions, unless you have at least a basic knowlege of networking. To give meaningful advice you would need to list the following information about your issue:

    * What are you trying to accomplish? (i.e. Setting up a new device such as a networked printer or copier.)
    * Some basic information about how the IP addressing for your network is setup. (i.e. Automatic vs. Static IP addressing)
    * What is the device that needs to have the IP address changed? (Computer, Printer, Copier, etc. Be specific with Make and Model) How you set IP addresses varies from one device to another.

If you are not in a position to know or find this kind of information, you should seek the assistance of a professional that can assist you. Preferably at your location.

Based on what you've said, I think you should *ask* a professional *whether* you should change your IP address.

You've still not given us any information about your situation, other than the operating system of your computer. You should know that IP addresses cannot be assigned arbitrarily, unless you own the network that you are connecting to.

If your computer is set to "automatically obtain" an IP address, then getting a new one *might* be as simple as opening a command prompt and typing "ipconfig /renew" at the cursor line. But that might, or might not give you a new IP address; a DHCP server somewhere on the network is responsible for handing out these addresses, and it recognizes the MAC (hardware) address of your network interface, and if you've not renewed lately, it will simply give you the same IP address you had before.

If your computer has a static IP address and you do not have control of the network it's attached to, you need to ask the network administrator.

Hi there, thanks for all your suggestion guys but I found a solution already and would like to them to all of you as well. In order to change an ip address of your computer you need a virtual private network, that way it will change the ip address of your computer as well as your location. There are free vpns and there are paid as well. I'm actually trying a free one and it perfectly runs.

Is your ip is static or dynamic? If it is dynamic, then you have to reset your modem or else if it is static, then ask your ISP to change your ip.To know your network ip address visit Ip-details.com .

There are many software available to change the Ip address on internet. You can search them on Google. Some software works online and for some software to use you have need to download them.

You can use Hidemyip. That works well.
