"Fujifilm Holdings accused Xerox (xrx, -0.91%) of caving to the whims of Carl Icahn and Darwin Deason in backing out of a $6.1 billion takeover deal.

'This change of heart is undoubtedly due to external pressures,' Fujifilm said in the complaint. ...

Josh Justice, president of Just-Tech, in LaPlata, Md., said the last six months of announcements, rebuttals, and court fights, have taught him that it just doesn’t affect sales performance. ...

" 'Taking a vertical approach to sales' is a common refrain among channel partners – but why? What is the benefit of target-specific sales versus a one-size-fits-all approach, and what do you need to know to be able to do it?

Verticals can be both a treasure trove and a minefield; laden with opportunities but also full of potential danger zones if you’re not fully aware of what is involved with those verticals — compliance, regulations, and standard operating procedures can all vary widely from one to the next, and knowing the intricacies of each is critical. ...

"In order to make a sale, you have to provide value to the client. That’s Sales 101. But in my experience, the best way to turn prospects into clients is by building a personal connection. People have to want to do business with you. Networking is the best way to start building personal connections. While social engagement is critical in the digital age, nothing will ever replace a handshake and a smile, and the connection you forge by looking someone in the eye. ...

"Channel partners tell me daily that productivity is a top concern for virtually every customer they serve. Moving from paper to digital workflows has the potential to radically overhaul how organizations work internally and externally. Digitizing paper processes can save time and money, enhance collaboration, and even help to improve data security, a leading concern across all verticals. It also paves the way for more advanced document management and automation across the business, and by all accounts, is the future of work. ...

"An enormous unrealized managed print services (MPS) opportunity is waiting for Xerox channel partners in the small to medium-sized (SMB) market. Sound far-fetched? Let’s do the math. According to the SBA, a “small business” is an organization with fewer than 500 employees and there are roughly 28 million operating in the United States. [1]

Over half the population works for a small business, which in turn creates a tremendous amount of impression volume and managed print ...
